Refunds & returns
Thirty days to return, two years on electronics, and no argument when something arrives faulty. This page also states plainly what we cannot take back and why — used battery packs and run models being the two that catch people out.

You have 30 days from delivery to start a return. Start it by emailing return@rcgeardepot.com with your order number and what is wrong — do not post anything back before you hear from us, because a parcel that arrives without a return authorisation cannot be matched to your order.
Once authorised, we need the item back within 14 days. We will send the return address and reference with the authorisation.
To be refunded in full, an item must come back unused and in its original packaging, with every accessory, manual, hex key and spare it shipped with.
Fitting a battery and driving it is use. We are not being pedantic about a test roll on carpet, but a chassis with dirt in the drivetrain, scuffed tyres or marked skid plates has been run, and it can no longer be sold as new. That is a partial refund at best, and it is the most common reason a return is reduced.
A short list, and every entry has a reason beyond our preference.
None of this limits your rights where an item is faulty, misdescribed or dead on arrival — those are covered below and are not affected by this list.
If something does not work out of the box, tell us within 7 days of delivery and we treat it as dead on arrival. You do not pay return shipping on a DOA item, and we do not ask you to prove it is not your fault before we help.
We will replace the item, send the faulty part, or refund it. Where a single component has failed on an otherwise good model, sending that component is usually faster than shipping the whole model back and forth — but the choice is yours, not ours.
Electronics we sell carry a two-year warranty against manufacturing defect: motors, ESCs, servos, receivers and transmitters. Mechanical parts carry the manufacturer's own warranty where one exists.
RC models are meant to be driven hard, and hard driving breaks things. That is not a defect.
Start a claim at support@rcgeardepot.com with your order number and photographs or video of the fault.
If we picked the wrong item, left something out, or it arrived broken, that is our error and it costs you nothing to fix.
| Faulty, DOA or misdescribed | We pay, prepaid label provided |
|---|---|
| Wrong item sent or something missing | We pay, prepaid label provided |
| Changed your mind | You pay return shipping |
| Ordered the wrong part | You pay return shipping |
On a change-of-mind return, the original outbound shipping is not refunded. Where the order shipped free because it passed $99, the shipping we absorbed may be deducted if the return takes the order below that threshold.
Use a tracked service. Until a return reaches us it is your parcel, and we cannot refund something we never received.
Refunds go back to the original payment method. We cannot send a refund to a different card, account or person.
| We inspect the return | Within 3 working days of arrival |
|---|---|
| We issue the refund | Within 3 working days of inspection |
| Card refunds appear | 5–10 working days after issue, set by your bank |
| PayPal and wallet refunds | Usually within 48 hours |
You get an email when the refund is issued. The gap between that email and the money appearing is your bank's clearing time, which we cannot shorten — if it has been longer than ten working days, contact refund@rcgeardepot.com and we will send the transaction reference to give them.
We handle an exchange as a return plus a new order. It is faster and it means you are not waiting on our stock movements.
If the exchange is because we sent the wrong item, do not place a second order. Email return@rcgeardepot.com and we will ship the correct item straight away.
Email support@rcgeardepot.com as soon as you can. If the order has not been packed we will cancel it and refund in full.
Once it has shipped we cannot cancel it. Refuse the delivery or return it under the 30-day window, noting that a refused parcel is treated as a change-of-mind return and the shipping both ways is deducted.
The 30-day window applies worldwide, with three differences worth knowing before you post anything.
