RC Gear Depot operates this website and is the controller of the personal information described here. You can reach us at privacy@rcgeardepot.com or by post at 670 Commerce Dr, Woodbury, MN 55125, USA.

This policy covers rcgeardepot.com and the ordering, account and support services provided through it.

Information you give us

• Order details — name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number.
• Account details — email, password (stored hashed, never in readable form), saved addresses, wishlist and order history.
• Support messages — anything you send us by email, contact form or live chat, including attachments.
• Marketing preferences — whether you subscribed, and to what.
• Reviews — the name and content you choose to publish.

Information collected automatically

• IP address, browser and device type, operating system, language.
• Pages viewed, products viewed, search terms, referring site.
• Cart contents and checkout progress, including abandoned carts.
• Cookie and similar identifiers — see cookies and tracking.

What we never see

We do not receive or store your full card number. Card details are captured directly by our payment processor. We receive only a transaction result, the last four digits and the card brand.

• To fulfil your order — process payment, pack, ship, and keep you updated. Without this we cannot sell you anything.
• To provide support — answer questions, handle returns, process warranty claims.
• To run the site — keep accounts working, remember your cart, prevent fraud and abuse.
• To improve what we sell — understand which products and pages people use, in aggregate.
• To market, where you have allowed it — email about new stock and restocks, and advertising measurement.
• To meet legal obligations — tax, accounting and consumer-law record keeping.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on: contract for order fulfilment, legitimate interests for security, fraud prevention and service improvement, consent for marketing and non-essential cookies, and legal obligation for record keeping.

We use cookies and similar technologies. Essential ones keep your cart, session and security working and cannot be switched off without breaking the site. The rest run only where you have allowed them.

Do Not Track

Browsers send this signal inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for honouring it, so we do not respond to it. Use the privacy choices page instead — that we do act on.

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with providers who need it to deliver something you asked for, and only what they need.

• Payment processors — Stripe, PayPal, Afterpay, Affirm, Ziina and Lemon Squeezy, depending on the method you choose at checkout.
• Carriers — your name, address and phone, so a parcel can be delivered.
• Suppliers and fulfilment partners — where an item ships directly, the address needed to ship it.
• Email and messaging providers — to send order updates and, where you opted in, marketing.
• Analytics and advertising providers — as listed above.
• Hosting and infrastructure — the platforms this site and its database run on.
• Professional advisers and authorities — where we are legally required, or to establish or defend legal claims.

If the business is sold or merged, customer records may transfer as part of it. You would be told before that changed how your information is used.

Deleting your account does not delete order records we are legally required to keep. Those are retained in a restricted form and not used for marketing.

Depending on where you live you may have some or all of these rights. We apply them to everyone who asks, regardless of location, because operating two standards is harder than operating one.

• Correction — fix anything inaccurate.
• Deletion — remove what we are not legally required to keep.
• Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable form.
• Objection and restriction — object to processing based on legitimate interests.

Email privacy@rcgeardepot.com to make a request. We reply within 30 days and may need to verify your identity first — usually by confirming details of a recent order.

The site runs over HTTPS throughout. Passwords are stored hashed. Card data never reaches our servers. Administrative access is restricted and authenticated.

No system is perfectly secure, and we will not claim otherwise. If a breach affects your personal information we will notify you and the relevant authority as the law requires.

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Hobby-grade RC is frequently bought by adults for younger users, which is fine — the account and the order should be the adult's. If you believe a child has given us personal information, email privacy@rcgeardepot.com and we will delete it.

We operate from the United States, and our providers may process data there or elsewhere. If you order from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and processed in the US, which may have different data protection laws than your country. Where required we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.

We update this page when our practices change. The date at the top always reflects the current version. If a change materially affects how we use your information we will tell you by email or a notice on the site rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
